Skillful use of metaphors and pauses can become the key to a client’s subconscious, helping bring to light what was hidden or unnoticed.
The new COACHING.UP course “Metaphors and Transformational Pauses in Coaching” is about how to harness the power of metaphors and pauses to significantly deepen client reflection and stimulate insights and breakthroughs.
The first cohort begins this July with trainer - experienced MCC ICF coach, Irina Gorbacheva.
Metaphors are a powerful way to help clients deal with complex situations during sessions and to reveal their blind spots. As coaches, we aim to support clients in finding new pathways and opportunities, and in this context metaphors become one of our strongest tools.
Metaphors are essentially a bridge between conscious and subconscious thinking. They allow clients to view their challenges from a new perspective, activating creative thinking and broadening their perception of both the situation and themselves within it.
They also play an important role in building trust. Metaphors create an emotional connection between coach and client, allowing the client to feel that their experiences are genuinely understood. This opens the door to deeper, more meaningful dialogue.

Together with an experienced trainer, the course will cover how to work with metaphors, how to spark client awareness through metaphorical questions, and much more.
As for pauses in coaching sessions - they are one of the coach’s most powerful tools. Pauses enhance client awareness by providing time to reflect on what was said and to consciously choose the next step. A pause is not simply silence; it creates space for inner reflection and transformation.
Join us for this new course, where over five days you will immerse yourself in the deep art of coaching mastery.
